Mission Analysis/GNC Engineer

Sidereus Space Dynamics is at the forefront of revolutionizing space access through its pioneering reusable single-stage launch vehicles, tailored for responsive deployments of nanosatellites and small payloads. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mission Analysis/Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with specialized experience in mission analysis, guidance, navigation, and control systems within the aerospace sector. The successful candidate will be involved in dynamic modeling of aerospace vehicles, thrust vectoring control systems, trajectory tracking, and more. This role requires a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application in a highly collaborative environment. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mission analysis to optimize trajectory design and payload deployment strategies.
  • Develop and implement guidance, navigation, and control algorithms to ensure precise vehicle positioning and trajectory tracking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GNC systems with vehicle hardware and software.
  • Perform simulations and analyses to validate and optimize GNC algorithms for various mission profiles.
  • Utilize advanced techniques such as Kalman filtering, optimal control, and Monte Carlo simulation to enhance system performance.
  • Contribute to the development of autonomous navigation capabilities for next-generation space vehicles.
  • Support testing and validation efforts through the use of simulation environments and hardware-in-the-loop testing.

Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Strong understanding of aerospace dynamics, orbital mechanics, and mission analysis principles.
    • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar tools for numerical analysis and simulation.
    • Experience with software development for embedded systems and real-time control applications.
    • Familiarity with GNC sensors, actuators, and inertial navigation systems.

Preferred Skills & Experiences:

  • Previous experience working with guidance algorithms, trajectory optimization, or spacecraft attitude control.
  • Knowledge of software packages such as STK (Systems Toolkit) or FreeFlyer for mission planning and analysis.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft propulsion systems and propulsion control techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong analytical mindset.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support testing and launch operations.

Salary And Benefits:

For this role, we offer a competitive salary ranging from €27,000 and €55,000, commensurate with your qualifications and experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
