Structural Design and Test Engineer

Sidereus Space Dynamics is leading the charge in revolutionizing space access with our cutting-edge, reusable single-stage launch vehicles, designed specifically for the efficient deployment of nanosatellites and small payloads. We are in search of a meticulous Design and Testing Engineer for our Structures Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the structural integrity and performance of our spacecraft through the design, assembly, testing, and validation of structural components and systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and testing components for structural subsystems of spacecraft. 
  • Perform analytical and FEM analysis. 
  • Procurement and manufacturing feasibility assessment. 
  • Assembly of structural components.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Structural Engineering, including design, testing, and analysis of structural systems. 
  • Familiarity with structural testing methods, including load, stress, and vibration testing, and the ability to interpret and act on test results. 
  • Strong foundation in structural dynamics, material science, and engineering principles relevant to spacecraft design and operation. 
  • Proficiency in CAD and CAE tools for structural design and analysis. 
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential design and testing issues. 
  • Experience with spacecraft or aircraft structural systems is highly desirable. 
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Skills & Experiences:

  • Experience in the end-to-end development of structural elements, from conceptual design to prototype testing. 
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including kinematics, mechanics, and materials science. 
  • Experience with analytical and scientific programming (MATLAB, Excel) for data analysis and modeling. 
  • A positive mindset and resilience in the face of technical and project challenges.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel as needed for the support of structural testing and launch operations.

Salary And Benefits:

For this role, Sidereus Space Dynamics offers a competitive salary range between €27,000 and €55,000, reflecting the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
