Assembly Operator (Structures Department)
Sidereus Space Dynamics is at the cutting edge of creating reusable single-stage launch vehicles designed for responsive deployments of nanosatellites and small payloads. As we forge ahead in our mission, we are seeking a diligent Assembly Operator to join our Structures Department. This role is central to the hands-on assembly of our launch vehicles, ensuring they are built to precise specifications and are mission-ready.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute the hands-on assembly of launch vehicle structures, adhering to technical drawings, specifications, and assembly procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and interpret assembly requirements, ensuring accuracy and quality in the assembly process.
- Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment to perform tasks such as drilling, riveting, and fastening components.
- Inspect and verify assembled structures, ensuring compliance with quality standards and identifying any discrepancies or issues for correction.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assembly processes, inspections, and any modifications or repairs made to structures.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of assembly processes by providing feedback and suggestions based on hands-on experience.
- Work closely with the Integration and Test Operators to facilitate the smooth transition of assembled structures to the testing phase.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the assembly area.
- Be prepared for domestic and international travel as required to support assembly and launch activities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment, preferably within the aerospace sector.
Demonstrated experience in hands-on assembly operations, interpreting technical drawings, and adhering to quality standards.
Preferred Skills & Experiences:
- Familiarity with aerospace materials, standards, and assembly techniques.
- Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of assembly activities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, adapting to evolving project requirements with a hands-on approach.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel extensively to support assembly and launch activities.
- Flexibility to work extended hours as necessary to meet mission objectives.
- A quick learner with the capability to take on varying assembly responsibilities.
Salary And Benefits:
For this role, we offer a salary range between €25,000 and €55,000, commensurate with your qualifications and experience. Our benefits package includes:
